About Us

Dr. Alina Kirshon-Goldman, the founder and director of Alina’s Music Studio, has studied and performed music for more than 25 years. She graduated with a Doctoral degree in voice performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and with Bachelors and Masters of Music from Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Israel.

Dr. Kirshon-Goldman has been teaching private voice, viola and violin lessons to students of all ages in Northern Virginia: Reston, Herndon and Arlington area since she opened her studio in 2010. Many of her students play with the district and honors orchestras in Arlington and Fairfax counties.

Alina started to play violin at age of 6. At age of 15 she discovered viola and a year after she started her journey in singing. Alina has participated in workshops and masterclasses given by world-renowned artists such as Tabea Zimmermann (viola), Atar Arad (viola), soprano Katia Ricciarelli and soprano Hilde Zadek, and has performed in several music festivals and competitions in Europe and United States. She has received numerous awards and scholarships, such as America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship and Paul Robeson Vocal Competition in Washington DC. She continues to perform solo recitals and chamber music collaborations. Dr. Kirshon-Goldman received Dean’s scholarship award for her research of art songs of Israeli composer Paul Ben-Haim.
